Transportation

There are a variety of transportation choices in Las Vegas and the surrounding areas. Taxis, public bus system, shuttles, rental cars, charter limousines and the monorail service are all available for a fee. Specialty vehicles consisting of stretch SUV Hummers, Excursions, Escalades and Navigators along with limousine bus coaches are also available for rental.

Taxi:
Several taxicab companies service the Las Vegas area. Fares begin at $2.80 and are $1.80 for each mile thereafter (20 cents per 1/9 mile). There is an airport surcharge of $1.20 per trip. Taxi waiting time is 37 cents a minute. Taxis will not take scheduled pick-up times at businesses or hotels, only at private residences. You must call for a taxi when ready and one will be dispatched. The taxi line at McCarran Airport is available outside the baggage claim area 24 hours a day.

CAT Bus System:
Citizens Area Transit (CAT) provides 47 routes, many 24 hours a day throughout the area. Bus stops can be found on nearly every block. The fare is $2.00 each way. For questions or to obtain routing information, call CAT customer service at 228.7433.

Limousines:
Do you desire a town car, limo, stretch limo, party bus or a super stretch SUV complete with party lights, sound system and disco ball? It's all available in Las Vegas! A simple silver, white or black limo could be yours for the night, but why not get a limo with painted flames! Hourly rental rates for limousine vary depending on your selection per company, but usually range from $40-$60 per hour. Specialty transportation begins around $80 per hour. Gratuity is not included.

Monorail:
A brand new elevated monorail system which runs from Sahara Avenue along Paradise Road, with multiple stops, to the MGM Grand Hotel. At speeds up to 50 m.p.h., the monorail can cover 4 miles in 14 minutes. Price is $3.00 for a one-way pass.

Shuttles:
Some hotels & casinos provide free shuttle service to other hotels and the airport. Call for specific schedules.
